E-Check

Must have SJSU Student ID or User ID number and password in order to access Student Financials in my.sjsu.edu

Credit Card

We accept MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We do not accept Visa at this time. You can pay by credit card online through your MySJSU account. For more information, please visit the Credit Card Payments site at the Bursar's office.

Check, Cashier's Check or Money Order

Pay in person, by drop box, or by mail. Postmarks are not accepted. Your name, local telephone number where you can be reached and SJSU ID number - not social security number - must be on the face of the check Mail checks to: Bursar's Office, San José State University, One Washington Square San José, CA 95192-0138

Third Party Sponsor

A purchase order must be attached with agency name, contact person, address and telephone.

Billing statements will not be sent. Failure to pay fees by the due date may result in classes being dropped without notice. If a check or e-check is dishonored by the bank for any reason including keying errors, the registration is subject to cancellation.

Classes may be dropped immediately without prior notification.

A $25 fee is charged for the first returned check/e-check and $35 thereafter. An additional Administrative Fee may also be charged. SJSU has no control whether the bank sends checks through a second time for clearing.

Any delinquent outstanding charges owed to the university will be submitted to the Franchise Tax Board for tax refund offset. If your account is referred to an external collection agency, you will be responsible for additional collection costs and attorney fees. Also, your account information may be reported to the credit bureau.

Student Record Holds

San José State University has authority to withhold registration privileges for any student with an outstanding cashiering debt. If a cashiering hold has been placed on your records, your registration will not be processed. To resolve the debt, please call the Bursar's Office at 408-924-1601.

Fee Receipts

You may use a printed copy from your student account to present to an employer for reimbursement or for tax reporting purposes.

Fee Disclaimer

The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees.
